Baby Summer Activites

Standard

Now that it is Midsummer there are pros and cons to activities that you can do with a baby. Controlled by Poopy diapers, nap time, feeding time, snack time and just wanting to be held time, outings can become a bit stressful. baby E and I try to get out at least twice a week together because even though I no longer work full time, being cooped up in the house can make us both go crazy, and we love fresh air.

But finding things to do with a 10 month old is not exactly easy. I have 3 sure-fire outings that will make us both feel like it is summer and fun.

1. The Pool- be it the public pool, a splash pad for kids, or the beach. An hour or 3 is all you need to help feel like all the pressure in the world is off you and the load of laundry waiting at home. I try to go in the morning or afternoon, and more then likely if we are at an outdoor pool after the swim in the kiddy pool I will sit under an umbrella and breastfeed and put my little guy to sleep. Sunscreen is a must!

2. The Library- believe me I could spend a few hours in the library even if I have a stroller to push around. My library has baby friendly story times that are free and we will try to make them during the summer because it is a good way to meet other parents with babies and chit chat.

3. Aquarium or Museum- Take your pick! We love it, for just a general admission and normally free parking. You can hear to the aquarium or local museum. I loved our aquarium day and so did Edwin. Most towns have a small local museum with the history behind its founding and normally free like Aurora, IL or Buffalo Grove, IL. Great for rainy days like today when the park, and zoo are out of the question.

Carrier or stroller are handy too because of the hands free easy mobility. Have a great rest of the summer, stay safe and have fun!
